Chris McCarthy has over 16 years’ experience in recruitment across both Commerce and Public Services. He began his career with Alexander Mann Solutions, where he worked closely with stakeholders to develop and implement new attraction planning methods and strategies for a range of clients including HSBC, KPMG Consulting and Cello. These programs improved internal resource management, accelerated and enhanced recruitment processes, streamlined supply chains, captured essential MI and ultimately drove down costs.
His passion for sourcing talented individuals means that he has always personally recruited. He has also worked at a global executive search boutique, working with individuals such as Archie Norman, recruiting the senior management team for one of his acquisitions. More recently he has worked with Hays, developing the range of services offered to clients in Public Services and Commerce across a range of specific skill sets including Finance, IT, HR, Marketing and Sales.
During his time at Hays Chris worked with 20th Century Fox across EMEA driving a re-engineering of their recruitment processes, supply chain and direct sourcing in order to meet significant headcount targets and drive down recruitment spend. This was unique in RPO terms as it encompassed high volume low risk appointments but also their Executive recruitment strategy across EMEA.
Chris’s track record of personal appointments includes Head of IR for BT, Regional Market Leader for KPMG, Director of Resources at Birmingham City Council, Chief Executive of Cable & Wireless, FD and VPIT for 20th Century Fox, and the NED role for Inclusion at the MOD. Chris also personally recruited the Cabinet Office Diversity Advisor.
Chris also has a strong personal interest in supporting organisations in developing an inclusive recruitment strategy for the 21st Century, which ultimately gives access to a greater and broader pool of talent.
